In many ways, Islam is a misconceived religion. Many of itsdirectives have remained a subject of hot debate in the past andmany continue to be a thorn in the minds of its intelligentsia.This booklet explains away fifty most common ones.

The stance of Islam regarding certain issues relating to women has remained a hot subject of debate, especially in the last few centuries. Although Islam does not support the basic tenets of the feminist movement, it must be conceded that this movement has served tocreate awareness in the educated Muslim women regarding some of the viewpoints that are presented to them by the clergy under the label of Islam.

In order to understand divine religions, it is essential to comprehend a certain unalterable practice of God. This practice is nothing but a divine scheme devised and executed by God either through natural disasters or through His messengers does not relate to the shari‘ah (divine law) revealed by Him. Simply put, it is: God, through natural disasters or through His messengers, punishes and humiliates in this very world their foremost and direct addressees who deliberately deny the truth communicated to them by their respective messenger.

Both the Old and the New Testament of the Bible contain many prophesies regarding the advent of the Prophet Muhammad (sws). In the present work a study has been undertaken to thrash out one of such prophecies in which the King and Prophet Solomon (sws) has foretold the advent of Prophet Muhammad (sws) by name.

According to the Jews and the Christians the ‘Only Son’ whom God had asked Abraham (sws) to offer for sacrifice, was ‘Isaac’ (sws) and not ‘Ishmael’ (sws). They base their view on a statement in the Bible. On the other hand a majority of the Muslim scholars claims that it was Ishmael, and not Isaac, whom God had asked Abraham to offer for sacrifice The present work studies the disputed issue in a scholarly manner and examines the Old Testament itself to prove that it was Ishmael (sws) and not Isaac (sws) whom Abraham (sws)  offered.

The only religion acceptable to God is Islam. I have presented in this book my understanding of this religion. It is the result of my deliberations and musings spanning almost a quarter of a century. What appears sound in this book should be regarded as a favour from the Almighty and the outcome of what I have learnt from my illustrious mentor: Imam Amin Ahsan Islahi. What appears unsound should be attributed to my own oversight.

Presented in this booklet is a part of Mr Ghamidi’s Meezan dealing with Islamic Customs and Etiquette which were sanctioned by the Prophet (sws) and then transferred to the Muslim ummah through the consensus and perpetual adherence of the Companions (rta) of the Prophet (sws).

This is an English translation of a section of Mr Ghamidi’s book Meezan. This article presents a summary of the Qur’anic shari‘ah regarding oaths and expiations for a broken oath as outlined in the Holy Qur’an (5:89).

Islam: A Concise Introduction is a condensed versionof Meezan, a comprehensive treatise on the contents ofIslam by the author: Javed Ahmad Ghamidi.

Amin Ahsan Islahi addresses the fundamental questions about Hadith literature which constitute for the classical and medieval Muslim jurists, after the Holy Qur'an, the second most important source of religious knowledge in Islam.

In this monograph, Farahi establishes that oaths, in the Holy Qur'an, are employed to evoke an object as evidence to the veracity of the claims that follow, but are not always mentioned explicitly. He answers an old question about the nature and purpose of the Qur’anic oaths and presents a number of interesting examples of his interpretive approach that has become the hallmark of the exegetical school he founded.

This translation of Farahi’s introductory prologues to the unfinished commentary on the Qur’an, written originally in Arabic, will show how Farāhī seeks to change our approach to the Qur’anic tafsir once and forever.

اِس مجموعہ مضامین کی تحریریں زیادہ تر معاصر مذہبی فکر کی تنقید میں ہیں ۔ اِسی رعایت سے میں نے اِن کے لیے ''برہان'' کا نام تجویز کیا ہے ۔ اِن کا اسلوب ، ہو سکتا ہے کہ بعض لوگوں کے لیے گراں باری خاطر کا باعث ہو ۔ یہ سب اگر ذوق خامہ فرسائی کی تسکین کے لیے ہوتا تو میں اِن کی اشاعت کے لیے کبھی آمادہ نہ ہوتا ، لیکن جس احساس ذمہ داری کی بنا پر یہ لکھی گئی تھیں، اُس کا تقاضا ہے کہ یہ قارئین تک پہنچتی رہیں :

تصویر کے بارے میں مسلمانوں میں عام نقطہ نظر یہ پایا جاتا ہے کہ کسی بھی ذی روح ،یعنی جان د ار کی تصویر یا اس کا مجسمہ بنانا شرعاً حرام ہے ۔ البتہ بے جان کی تصویر یا مجسمہ بنانا جائز ہے ۔ ہمارے نزدیک یہ بات تصویر کے بارے میں خود قرآن و حدیث کے اپنے مدعا ہی کے خلاف ہے ۔ آیندہ صفحات میں ہم اس نقطہ نظر کا تنقیدی جائزہ لیں گے اور اس باب میں صحیح رائے واضح کرنے کی کوشش کریں گے۔ وما توفیقنا الا باللّٰه 

اس كتابچہ كا مقصد تحرير يہ ہے كہ ہر آدمی كے پاس وه شاكلہ [مزاج اور طبيعت] آ جائے كہ جس كے تحت وہ الله كی دنيا ميں الله كی مرضی كے مطابق زندگی بسر كر سكے۔
