Question
In how many Miracles should we have belief that cannot be interpreted? Does not the Holy Qur’ān confirm that no Miracles were conferred on Muhammad (sws)? Which verse of the Holy Qur’ān indicates that Miracles were given to the Holy Prophet (sws)?
Answer
The Holy Qur’ān mentions certain demands of unbelievers and the Jews from the Holy Prophet (sws) to present some supernatural things but, in response, Allah Almighty has always presented the Holy Qur’ān. This indicates that as a proof of the truthfulness of his Prophethood, the Holy Prophet (sws) had not been bestowed with any observable Miracles. However, it does not implicate that the life of the Holy Prophet (sws) is empty of any unusual events. The event of splitting the moon has been mentioned in the Holy Qur’ān. Some other true predictions have also been made in the Holy Qur’ān. Some narratives also mention certain abnormal events. He founded a great state that itself is a great miracle.
The events mentioned in individual reports can be differed on the basis of ḥadīth criterion but as a rule, they cannot be denied in any condition.
