Determination Of The Night Of Power

Question

We all have faith in “Shab e Qadar (Night of Power)” which is one of the “odd nights” in the last ten nights of Ramadan. My question is that we in Pakistan and those in Saudi Arabia (or even in some parts of Pakistan) started Ramadan on different days. And our odd nights fall on their even nights. In this situation, what is the explanation for Shab e Qadar to fall on odd nights i.e. are there two such nights or it is a wrong practice to start Ramadan on different days. I was just confused in this regard, so thought of seeking your advice. Looking forward to hear from you.

Answer

It may be concluded on the basis of common sense that just as each different geographical regions can have their own Eids on the basis of moon sighting, similarly, they can have their own shab e qadrs. This is the night in which God decides fates and this can relate to the people of that particular region.
