Is it necessary to tell a person that I am giving you this money as a charity from my sadaqa fund?
Answer
Disclosing the nature of contribution to a brother and friend is not an issue. Nor is avoiding disclosing it illicit. This is because every such help granted to another person is sadaqah by definition. Sadaqah is but charity. When you help someone you are doing a charitable act. However, one should not seek any benefit from the person whom one helps. However, some people do not easily accept our help when we use the word sadaqah. To such people we may not mention it. The question is: if it is not charity then what it is?
