Question
Is it allowable to differ with the opinion, thinking and advice of the Prophet (sws) in minor religious matters?
Answer
The religion does not allow us going against the Prophet (sws) in any condition. Contrarily, such an attitude negates one’s faith. It can waste one’s good deeds. However one can go against a statement ascribed to the Holy Prophet (sws) following the principles of dirāyat (textual analysis). This means he is actually going against the narrators. He does not in fact go against the Holy Prophet (sws).
