Is it wrong for a Muslim husband to leave his wife and kids at night after 12:00 pm midnight so he can be with his friends and stay with them for a few hours?
Answer
This issue has not been discussed in the Shari’ah. The general teachings of Islam oblige a person to fulfill the rights of the spouse and the children. If one continually neglects the rights of the spouse and the children and stays out without purpose he may incur displeasure of God for ignoring the rights of the family members. However, there could be valid reasons and situations when one occasionally goes out. Time is not important in this regard. The only thing that one needs to observe is to fulfill the rights of the spouse and the children.
