Supplications After The Salah

Question

The imam who leads the prayer, supplicates after the salah is completed. I personally prefer to recite supplications ascribed to the Prophet (sws) through reliable narrators. Some prayers have wahid mutakallim tense whereas Imam has to say dua for all namazeez using (plural) tense. Since for me it is difficult to change from singular to plural like Qalbi to Qulobuna and so on. So is it ok for imam to recite dua in wahid mutakallim tense.

Answer

I believe we should pray to God in our own language so that we can put our needs. However, it is also good to use the supplications ascribed to the Prophet (sws). They express a need in the best possible way. I do not see any problem in saying the supplication in the first person singular. The Almighty knows that we are supplicating in in congregation and asking him for the good of all present.
