I like your programmes a lot and feel that Mr Ghamidi has waited inadequately long time to hold this type debates. Yet it’s never too late. I live in UK and feel sorry that Q\u0101diy\u0101n\u012b has misled so many people in the subject of khatam-I nubuwat<\/em>. They also refer to Im\u0101m Ibn al-‘Arab\u012b and Im\u0101m Ghaz\u0101l\u012b to affirm that these scholars were also of the opinion that a Prophet can come after the Prophet Muhammad (sws). And it does not affect kh\u0101tam al-nabiyy\u012bn<\/em> status of the Prophet Mohammad (sws). I would like Mr Ghamidi to throw some light on this subject. If you choose this topic kindly inform me on this email address so that I can watch and record it. Or else kindly give me some reply.<\/p>\n

I think the verse 33:40 is very clear about the Prophet (sws) being the seal of prophets and therefore the last prophet of God.<\/p>\n

However, I would like to bring your kind attention to the fact that, apart from the above, the main problem with those who believe in a prophet after the Prophet Muhammad (sws) is that the Qur\u2019\u0101n (which is the ultimate book of guidance) does not inform Muslims of any future coming prophets. <\/div>\n
To appreciate this point, we can study the Qur\u2019\u0101n to see on what basis ahl al-kitab<\/em> were expected to accept the Prophet (sws). Reading the Qur\u2019\u0101n we can see that the main argument of the Qur\u2019\u0101n against ahl al-kitab<\/em> was that they knew (based on their holy books) that a prophet was about to come, yet once this prophet came they denied him. In the words of God:<\/div>\n

\u201cThose whom We have given the Book recognize him (the Prophet sws) as they recognize their sons\u201d (6:20)<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
This obvious recognition was due to the information that was given to ahl al-kitab<\/em> about the future prophet.<\/div>\n
In the entire Qur\u2019\u0101n, there is not even a remote reference to any forthcoming prophet after Prophet Muhammad (sws). Verse 33:40 explains the reason.<\/div>\n
