Mr. Ghamidi is a very good and competent scholar. I need his advice about the importance from the point of view of being a Muslim for my daughter to convince her to get married as she has now high education and a good job. She thinks that all men are bad and don’t want to get married to become a slave.<\/p>\n

And among His Signs is that He created for you mates from among your species that you may obtain comfort from them, and [for this purpose], He has put love and sympathy within you; surely, in this are signs for those who reflect.” (Q. 30:21)<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

One who acts in accordance to my Sunnah (way) is from me, and among my Sunnah is Marriage. (Musnad<\/em> Abi Ya’la No: 5:133)<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
It is clear from the above verse and the above Hadith<\/em> (and many other similar Ahadith<\/em>) that marriage is one of the essential ingredients of human being’s life without which one’s life is not balanced.<\/div>\n
Apart from the issue of finding comfort and balance, there are other important aspects in a marriage:<\/div>\n
-Marital relationship contributes to the health of a society as it results in generating families (as opposed to separate individuals). This is one of the main reasons for the fact that the status of family is maintained in many traditional societies while it is nearly perished in many modern ones.<\/div>\n
– Marriage also generates offspring and it is hoped that a God fearing couple will produce God fearing children and thus will contribute in a spiritually healthy society.<\/div>\n
– When a person dies, he\/she will not be able to add anything to his\/her good deeds unless he\/she has made a good establishment in life that continues to benefit him\/her after his\/her death. One category of these good establishments are good children.<\/div>\n
I think the above are enough to convince a Muslim about the importance and the necessity of marriage.<\/div>\n

As for avoiding marriage to avoid being slave, if this is the real reason why your daughter does not want to marry, then my suggestion is simply to look around to see how diverse people and their attitudes are. It seems like a more reasonable strategy should be to look carefully and cautiously for a sole mate rather than to stop looking. We should not erase a problem, we should solve it.<\/p>\n
