The Holy Qur\u2019\u0101n and the Ahadith show that man is tested for two main reasons. Firstly he is tested when he abandons the path of truth. Secondly Allah Almighty tests him to elate his spirits in the religion like He does to the prophets. Please illuminate the whole matter in the light of the Holy Qur\u2019\u0101n and the Sound Ahadith.<\/p>\n
There are two aspects of the test. The first one clarifies the truthfulness of our belief. The second aspect concerns the completion of our target to purify our conscience. Our moral conduct and steadfastness in religion and belief always remain in a state of a trial. When something unpleasant happens, it tests our patience as well as our gratefulness. If we handle it successfully, it strengthens our belief. In this regard you have rightly said that it strengthens our position in the religion. You are also right in saying that some troubles awake us from our spiritual slumber. They are also a blessing in disguise from Allah as they stop one from going astray. There are some other aspects of trial as well. A couple of such occasions of trial have been reckoned in the journey of Moses. <\/p>\n
However, it is clear that this life is a test. It carries all types of trials and triumphs for admonition and encouragement. But we cannot grasp the motive behind every such incident. This point has also been cleared in the story of Moses’ Journey. <\/p>\n
