Can a <em>hadith<\/em> be equally authentic as a verse of the Qur\u2019\u0101n? <\/p>\n<h3>Answer<\/h3>\n<p>Qur\u2019\u0101n has reached us through authentic sources (<em>taw\u0101tur<\/em>) whereas the <em>h\u0323ad\u012bth<\/em> reached us through individual to individual mode of transmission (<em>ah\u0323b\u0101r-e \u0101h\u0323\u0101d<\/em>). Holy Qur\u2019\u0101n is conclusive whereas <em>h\u0323ad\u012bth<\/em> is probable. A <em>h\u0323ad\u012bth<\/em> cannot specify or abrogate a Qur\u2019\u0101nic verse semantically or syntactically. On the other hand, a <em>h\u0323ad\u012bth<\/em> will be studied in the light of the Holy Qur\u2019\u0101n. If a <em>h\u0323ad\u012bth<\/em> contradicts the Qur\u2019\u0101n, it is rejected. Such a <em>h\u0323ad\u012bth<\/em> cannot be cited as evidence in religious matters. He is one of the senior students of Mr Ghamidi from whom he learnt Arabic Grammar and major religious disciplines. He was a major contributor in the establishment of the institutes and other organizations by Mr Ghamidi including Ans\u0323\u0101r al-Muslim\u016bn and Al-Mawrid. He worked in Ishr\u0101q, a monthly Urdu journal, from the beginning. He worked as assistant editor of the journal for many years.
