I just got engaged few months ago. My wedding is after five months. I and my fianc\u00e9 meet sometimes but not alone. Now we want to meet alone but before that we want to do nikah<\/em> (without telling anyone) to avoid sinfulness. My question is that, if we do nikah<\/em> now (without telling anyone) then what will happen on wedding day? Can we do nikah<\/em> again at wedding time because we don\u2019t want to tell anyone in our families that we doing nikah<\/em> and meeting alone?<\/p>\n

Please note that secret marriage is not allowed and one must not follow this path. This is because the nikah<\/em> is an open declaration of a male and female to live openly together. This means that they willingly decide to accept each other as a husband and wife before the society whose acknowledgement of their decision renders their relations allowable. A secret marriage is no marriage indeed. It is not only disregarding the shair’ah<\/em> but also carries great potential for destruction of the repute of the couple. One party may change their mind later on and it would be greatly devastating for the other party. The society would not be there to side with them and women suffer greatly. I suggest you either make your marriage open or simply wait a little.<\/p>\n
