Black Magic

Question

I live in New York and I think I am a victim of black magic (kalā jādū); My wife had cancer, my son had brain tumour, my daughter suffered heart problem. I am facing every problem you can possibly think of. I am not a superstitious person and have never believed in magic (Jādū). But listening to one of your shows (GEO TV’s weekly program “Ghamidi”) has opened my eyes. So please help me. May all the blessings of God be with you. Thanks for having such a wonderful show.

Answer

Our teacher, Ghamidi Sb, is of the view that while it is possible that a person gets negatively affected by black magic, we should avoid becoming superstitious.

What you and your family have gone through may or may not be the consequence of black magic. However, you should take the situation as a trial and pray to God regularly and seek His help in getting rid of your problems. Indeed only He can bring you out of your problems.
However, if you feel that despite your sincere prayers, you still are going through difficulties and you want to go for a cure of it, you may do so provided the person you consult has the right religious approach and is not likely to resort to anything disallowed in Islam.
