Question
Could one give money as atonement for breaking an oath?
Answer
According to the explicit commands of the Holy Qur’an breaking a solemn oath may be expiated by the following:
1. To feed ten poor people with the standard of food he normally feeds his own family
2. To give them clothes to wear
3. To liberate a slave.
4. If he is unable to do either of these, he must fast for three days.
However, if you don’t find it possible you can opt for distributing equal amount. This is possible.
