Answer

This concept is baseless. Both man and woman originated from nafs-e-wahida, (from a single entity). The “rib origin theory” has been borrowed from the Bible. The rib has been used as a metaphor for feminine nature in various hadiths, which has been erroneously translated. The Prophet (sws) advised us to be gentle and chivalrous in dealings with the fairer sex because of their nature. The word rib has been used as a metaphor.
