Can I offer salah in a room with pictures or photographs in the room?
Answer
We believe that presence of pictures in the room where we pray does not harm the prayer. However, we should try not to keep something distracting in front of us while praying. Anas (rta) narrates that ‘A’ishah (rta) had hung a curtain in the house. When the Prophet saw it, he asked her to remove it because the pictures [imprinted on it] kept coming before him during the prayer.[Bukhārī, No: 367]
