I was listening to one of the scholars in Pakistan. He said that before prophet (sws) died, he went to the tomb / graves of the martyrs of Uhad. He said that this hadith has consensus and is present in reliable ahadith books. The speech was in the context of visiting the graves of Aulia and Martyrs.
My second questions pertains to Prophet Noah and the flood which came as a punishment in Quran for the addresees of Noah (sws). Your point of view says that the flood only came in that specific area where the addresees of Noah (sws) resided. If this is true then there are suppose to be other people/human beings around the globe which might have their decendents. But in one of your views regarding Gog magog, you said that Noah (sws) has three sons and they are from one of them.
The statement gave the impression that the people on the whole world currently are decendents of those three sons. If that is true then that means the whole world was destroyed in Noah (sws) flood and only Noah (sws) and his followers were saved. Kindly shed some light.
Thirdly, kindly tell that where exactly does the people from the decendents of the tribe gog magog residing in current era, to whom we believe that the rule of the world will transfer before the day of judgment. Are these Americans, British or Chinese?
Answer
1. The forbiddance or permissibility of visiting graves depends on the intention behind it. If a person visits a grave in order to worship the dead or to ask them to fulfill a demand or believing that there is a blessing with the grave that benefits people then this is prohibited. The prophet (pbuh) never visited a grave for any of these purposes.
Other reasons for visiting graves, like emotional motivations, paying respect symbolically, to be reminded of the hereafter, to get aspiration (where the grave belongs to an exalted person) are permissible and some of them (like being reminded of the hereafter) are in fact recommended. The prophet’s (pbuh) visiting of graves was of this (permissible) category.
2. You have missed a possibility that can be very likely, that is, at the time of Noah the only human inhabitants of the earth were people of Noah. After all, we know that Noah was not that far from Adam, generation wise.
3. For a view about who the Gog and Magog of our time might be, please refer to the following answer:
